Behavior Modification Dog Training in Raleigh & Durham, NC

Imagine a Calmer Walk β€” and a Safer Daily Life With Your Dog

Living with a reactive, fearful, or aggressive dog can make walks, visitors, and everyday outings stressful β€” for your dog and for you. Our behavior modification dog training Raleigh NC program starts with a careful evaluation of your dog’s triggers and history, then builds a structured, safety-first plan for real life.

Private lessons take place at parks and other public places, where triggers actually happen, so your dog learns to cope where it matters most. For board & train, your dog lives and trains in the trainer’s home β€” not in a kennel β€” with daily structure, supervision, and real-world practice.

For over a decade, Off Leash K9 Training Raleigh/Durham has helped local dogs and their owners build better communication and more reliable behavior. We are honest about what behavior work can do: we do not promise that aggression can be cured. Our goal is healing for you and your dog, to result in a safer, calmer daily life.

With personalized attention and hands-on instruction for owners, we make sure you understand the plan and can keep it going β€” during private lessons and, for board & train dogs, with daily training videos while your dog is staying with us.

Not sure which program is right for your dog? Start with a free phone consultation. We’ll help you decide what training makes the most sense for your goals.

How Our Behavior Modification Programs Work

For behavior modification dog training Raleigh NC owners can rely on, we start with a careful evaluation of your dog’s triggers and history β€” what sets your dog off, how they have reacted in the past, and what daily life looks like for both of you. That evaluation shapes a structured, safety-first plan built around your dog, not a one-size-fits-all program.

Training then happens where triggers actually happen. Private lessons take place at parks and other public places, so your dog practices calmer, more controlled behavior around real distractions, people, and other dogs β€” at a distance and pace your dog can handle. Where appropriate, we use safety protocols such as leash handling and muzzle conditioning, introduced gradually so your dog is comfortable.

For board & train, your dog lives and trains in the trainer’s home, with daily structure, supervision, and real-world practice, plus daily video updates so you can follow their progress. At handover, we teach you the same commands, techniques, and management plan, so you can keep progress going safely.

How Booking Works

  1. Free phone consultation. Call (919) 849-3974 and tell us about your dog β€” their triggers, history, and what daily life looks like now. We will give you honest advice and help you choose between the Behavior Modification Package and the Behavior Modification Board & Train.
  2. In-person consultation. For behavior cases, we highly recommend a 30-minute in-person consultation for $50 before your dog’s 3-week stay. After purchasing, call (919) 849-3974 to schedule your time β€” we will meet your dog, assess their behavior, and recommend the right program.
  3. Reserve your program. When you are ready, we will email you the booking link to schedule and confirm payment. The Behavior Modification Board & Train can be reserved with a $1,000 deposit, with the remainder due at drop-off.
  4. Start training & follow through. Private lessons meet at parks and other public places. Board & train dogs go home with the trainer, and you get daily video updates while your dog is staying with them. We teach you the commands, techniques, and management plan one-on-one, so you can keep progress going safely. Board & train includes a follow-up session two weeks after boarding.
