Meet Liberty, Trainer

Born and raised in Mississippi, I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, and they’ve always been my passion. Now, I live on 37 acres in Oxford, NC, with a diverse and growing family of 7 dogs, 1 cat, 3 horses, chickens, ducks, and cattle.I’ve spent the past decade working as a Veterinary Technician/Nurse, with a focus on animal behavior and wound care. I am Fear Free certified and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and Behavior, which has deepened my commitment to the training field. My true passion lies in helping misunderstood animals, especially those with behavioral challenges. That passion inspired me to establish Sunflower Acres, a rescue dedicated to providing hospice care and behavioral rehabilitation to animals in need.I’m currently in the process of transitioning Sunflower Acres from an LLC into a nonprofit, with the goal of creating a sanctuary where every animal, no matter how challenging their circumstances, has a chance to live a life of dignity, safety, and love.
