WHY IT MATTERS

Why professional training is essential for Holly Springs dog owners

Safety & control

A dog that recalls off leash and holds a stay at a crosswalk is a safer dog — for your family, your neighbors, and your dog.

Stronger bond

Training is a shared language. When your dog understands what you want, walks, outings, and everyday life get easier for both of you.

Skills that transfer

Commands practiced at home are proofed where it counts — at Bass Lake Park, Sugg Farm Park, Womble Park, Ting Park, and other Holly Springs-area parks and public places — so they hold up anywhere.

Family harmony

Consistent rules and calm manners mean fewer chewed shoes, fewer jumped-on guests, and a dog the whole household enjoys.

Behavior modification

Reactivity, leash pulling, and anxiety do not fade on their own. Structured training gives your dog a clear job and calmer responses, even on a busy greenway.

TRAINING IN HOLLY SPRINGS

Built for how Holly Springs dogs actually live

Holly Springs is a town of parks, trails, and busy neighborhood streets, centered on Holly Springs Towne Center and Main Street. A dog that behaves at home still has to cope with squirrels at Bass Lake Park, other dogs at Sugg Farm Park, Womble Park and Ting Park, and crowds at the Holly Springs Cultural Center and other public places. That is why our dog training Holly Springs NC lessons do not stop at the kitchen floor — we train in the places your dog actually goes, so sit, stay, heel, and recall hold up when it matters.

If you want the work done faster, a board & train program gives your dog two or three weeks of daily structure in a trainer’s home, plus a go-home lesson so you can keep the results going.

We could not recommend Maggie with Off Leash more! She did an exceptional job with our 7-month-old rescue, Bennie. He is naturally a very nervous and timid dog, and Maggie was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding with him. She gave him the time and encouragement he needed to build his confidence, and it was clear how strong of a bond and relationship they developed during his two weeks with her. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of progress Bennie made in just two weeks! When we picked him up, we could immediately see the difference—not only in his training, but in his confidence and overall demeanor. It was obvious how much dedication and patience Maggie put into working with him. Maggie spent two hours with us going over everything we needed to know to continue his training at home. She provided us with a detailed training plan, and the constant video updates throughout his stay allowed us to see his progress and know he was being so well cared for. We truly feel that Maggie has set Bennie up for success and given him the tools to live his very best life. We are so grateful for the care, patience, and dedication she showed our boy. Thank you so much, Maggie, for taking such wonderful care of Bennie! We are very proud dog parents and would recommend you to everyone we know!

We elected the 2 week board and train package for our 1.5yr old Setter with Maggie due to our dog's high prey drive and the difficulty in controlling him on walks. Maggie met with us for a free consultation in advance of scheduling the board and train, and walked through her training philosophy and plan; this allowed us to make sure we were a good match before we committed to scheduling the board and train. Maggie was very flexible with scheduling, accommodating our schedules. During the training process, she provided us detailed daily updates and videos so we could see the progress he was making along the way and to help prepare us to take over training, which was great! At “turnover”, she provided an in-depth, two-hour training session to ensure that we felt comfortable to continue to train our setter at home and solidify his new skills. The progress that was made in two weeks was incredible and a great jumpstart to enable us continue to work on his training at home. Another reason we chose Maggie is the availability for ongoing support if needed to ensure continued success into the future. I would absolutely work / train with, and trust Maggie in the future! And I can't wait to see further steps of progress to come based on the foundation Maggie provided!

We cannot recommend Maggie at Off Leash K9 Training enough! She recently completed a two-week board-and-train with our Lagotto Romagnolo, Gibson, and the results have exceeded every expectation we had. Gibson is an incredibly intelligent, high-energy dog, and we knew from the beginning that simply teaching obedience wasn't going to be enough. Maggie took the time to understand him as an individual and gave us so much more than training. She helped us understand why he behaves the way he does and gave us countless ideas for healthy outlets for his energy. She recommended activities like dock diving, dog sports, scent work, structured play, and other forms of mental and physical enrichment that are a perfect fit for his breed. It was obvious she truly wanted Gibson to thrive, not just behave. The biggest transformation has been on our walks. Before training, Gibson pulled constantly and walking him could be exhausting. Now he walks beautifully in a heel right beside me, responds when I say "Let's go" to change directions, and is so much more attentive. Walking him has become something I genuinely enjoy instead of something I dreaded. Maggie didn't just train Gibson. She trained our family, too. She gave us a simple, consistent system of commands and markers that makes communicating with him so much easier. Gibson now confidently responds to sit, down, place, heel, come, break, and off, and she taught us exactly how to reinforce those behaviors using markers like "yes," "good," and "no." Instead of just sending us home with a trained dog, she equipped us with the knowledge and confidence to continue his training for the rest of his life. What impressed us most was how much Maggie truly cared about Gibson. Throughout the two weeks, she kept us updated with pictures, videos, and progress reports, so we always knew how he was doing. It was obvious that she treated him like one of her own, and Gibson absolutely adored her. The change in Gibson has been incredible. He's still the happy, goofy dog we love, but now he's calmer, more focused, and understands what is expected of him. We know training is a lifelong commitment, but thanks to Maggie, we finally have the foundation and tools to help him succeed. If you're considering dog training, don't hesitate. Maggie is patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, and truly exceptional at what she does. We are beyond grateful for everything she has done for Gibson and our family. Thank you, Maggie, for giving us a better relationship with our dog. It has truly been one of the best investments we've made.
